2024 Day 147 – 1 Chronicles 26-29; Psalm 127
Being totally dependent on someone else is normally not a good thing, unless that someone is our Heavenly Father. “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” (Psalms 127:1) Jesus also spoke of how we should depend on Him. “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) When you need help, the Psalmist points you in the right direction. “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.” (Psalms 121:1-3)
