2024 Day 352 – 1 Timothy 1-6
Paul knew that he was saved, but he was humble in his attitude. “Faithful is the saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief:” (1 Timothy 1:15) He also knew that Christ’s saving blood was shed for everyone, not just him. “This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who would have all men to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:3-4) Like Paul, we have all sinned. “for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23) But the power for us to be saved is the same power Jesus described to His disciples when telling them how hard it was for a rich man to get to heaven. “And when the disciples heard it, they were astonished exceedingly, saying, Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them said to them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:25-26)
